How to give superpowers to game audio creators with AI? This tutorial will present challenges and learnings from taking a machine learning generative model from a research project to a production tool, making it usable for audio and sound designers in game audio productions. ExFlowSions started as a Master’s thesis project at SEED, the research and innovation team at the game publisher and developer Electronic Arts: home for the award-winning studio DICE, creators of the Battlefield franchise. The model allows generating explosion sound variations of an arbitrary number of channels and, additionally, timbre transfer of any sound to explosion sounds. To be used in production, the model was adapted as an audio tool prototype that exposes a friendly user interface.
